During the third round in the state, Meghraja's Heli caused an uproar in Saurashtra. Another bout of rain is expected after a short break of five days. Ambalal Patel, a renowned meteorologist, predicts that from July 27 to August 5, Saurashtra and South Gujarat will witness rainy conditions in the next fourth round of rains. Further, western areas of the state are likely to receive rain on 26th, 27th and 28th. Next month of August is expected to start with rain in its first week.

During the third phase of rains, cyclones wreaked havoc in Gujarat, enveloping the entire region. As Meghraja caused widespread destruction especially in Saurashtra and South Gujarat, he created an atmosphere of fear among the people. Meghtandav, in all its chaos, disrupted normal life for many individuals, and still, a sense of normalcy is yet to be felt in some areas. Meteorologist Ambalal Patel presents a new forecast in this weather situation.

Heavy rain forecast

Ambalal Patel, a meteorologist, predicts that an imminent deep depression forming over the Orissa sea will bring rain to the state on July 26. This weather system is expected to affect the western part of the country. Rain is likely in various parts of the country. It is worth mentioning that there is a possibility of rain in the western part from 26th to 28th. Heavy to very heavy rain is expected especially in Mumbai.

According to the forecast of Ambalal Patel, there is going to be a lot of rain in Gujarat. South Gujarat and Saurashtra regions are expected to receive heavy rainfall from July 27 to August 5. Additionally, North and Central Gujarat are also expected to receive significant rainfall. Also, there is a high chance of rain in Gujarat during the first week of August. Consequently, rains are likely in Mehsana and Aravalli districts during the same period.

According to Ambalal Patel, the water level of both Narmada and Tapi rivers is expected to rise due to expected heavy rains in Gujarat. In addition, strong winds of up to 100 km/hr are predicted over the Bay of Bengal as well as the Arabian Sea.

Meteorological department forecast

Current weather conditions in Gujarat indicate the absence of an active monsoon system as predicted by the local Meteorological Department. As a result, there is a slight possibility of heavy rains in the state, but it should not be assumed that the rains have stopped completely. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Sabarkantha and Aravalli. As a result, heavy rains may occur in Junagadh, Amreli and Bhavnagar of Saurashtra. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in some areas of South Gujarat. Thunderstorm and strong gusts of wind may cause heavy rains in Navsari, Valsad and Daman on July 28.
