Currently, there are three types of Aadhaar card formats: Aadhaar Letter, e-Aadhaar, and PVC. The PVC card has been launched recently. According to UIDAI, all three formats of the Aadhaar card will be considered valid. Citizens will be able to choose the format according to their convenience. So don't pay attention to any rumor that PVC card is more valid than other 2 format Aadhaar cards or e-Aadhaar is no longer valid.

How to Request for Aadhaar PVC Card at residentpvc.uidai.gov.in
1. First visit https://uidai.gov.in or https://resident.uidai.gov.in.
2. Click on the ‘Order Aadhaar Card’ service.
3. Submit your 10 digit UID or 16 digits Virtual Identification Number (VID) or 28 enrolled ID.
4. Note the security code or captcha code.
5. Select the option of the registered number to get OTP. If a mobile number is not registered then submit it if an optional number is available.
6. Click ‘Send OTP’.
7. Tick ‘Terms and Conditions’ after approval. (Note: Click on the hyperlink and see the details)
8. After completing the ‘OTP’ verification process, click Submit.
9. After clicking on ‘Make a payment, you will reach the payment gateway, where you will get the option of Credit / Debit Card, Net Banking, and UPI.
10. Receipt of successful payment will be received, it will have a digital signature on it. You will get the service request number on SMS. You can use this number to track the process until the card is delivered.

Aadhaar PVC Card: The aadhaar PVC Card is the latest form of Aadhaar introduced by UIDAI. Other than being easy to carry and durable, the PVC-based Aadhaar Card has a digitally signed secure QR code with photographs and demographic details with multiple security features. It can be ordered online through uidai.gov.in or resident.uidai.gov.in using an Aadhaar number, Virtual ID, or Enrolment ID and paying a nominal charge of Rs. 50/-. Aadhaar PVC Card is delivered to the resident’s address by speed post.
