Ahmedabad. The Gujarat government on Thursday announced a Rs 14,000 crore package to revive the economy, which has been weakened by the Koro epidemic and lockdown. Residential electricity consumers consuming less than 200 units of electricity per month will be given a one-time waiver of 100 units.
Electricity tax for small traders will be reduced from 20 percent to 15 percent
It has decided to waive the fixed charge of May 2020 in electricity bill for approximately 33 commercial electricity consumers and electricity consumers with LT electricity connection for industries. In addition to small shops such as groceries, textiles, readymade garments, medical stores, hardware, coloring, provisional stores, cutlery, bakery, stationery, mobile shops, garage, and mall shops, as well as various services such as lawyers, chartered accounts, travel agencies, Electricity tax for transport offices, coaching classes, photo studios, beauty parlors, salons for the three months of June, July, and August, will be reduced from 20 percent to 15 percent. With this, 6 months exemption has been given from the road tax of private vehicles.
Textile industries to Rs. 450 crore capital and interest subsidy
The textile industry occupies an important place in the industrial sector in the state as well as provides abundant employment. Such textile industries will be given Rs. 450 crore capital and interest subsidy will be paid by July 31, 2020. It is imperative that all types of industrial units in the state benefit from the dire situation of the Kovid-19 epidemic. Accordingly, Rs 150 crore capital and interest subsidy will also be paid to Mega Industries by July 31, 2020.
VAT and GST refund of Rs 1,200 crore to traders
More than 3200 traders in the state will be paid VAT and GST refund of Rs 1200 crore by July 31, 2020, to relieve these traders from financial congestion. More than 27,000 entrepreneurs in the state will be paid a subsidy of Rs 190 crore under the Bajpayee Bankable Scheme by July 31, 2020.
For solar rooftop Rs. 190 crore subsidy
Under Solar Roof Top Scheme for 65000 families Rs. The subsidy of Rs 190 crore will be given by July 31, 2020. Through Gujarat Agro-Industries Corporation, Agro and Food Processing Units have been provided Rs. 90 crore capital and interest subsidy will be given by 31st July 2020.
